Aprueban Estudio de Impacto Ambiental del proyecto “Actualización Arqueros”

El proyecto “Actualización Arqueros” recibió la aprobación del Estudio de Impacto Ambiental (EIA). Se espera que la iniciativa, ubicada en la comuna de Diego de Almagro, en la Región de Atacama, inicie las obras de construcción en el segundo semestre de 2021.

Arqueros consiste en la explotación de un yacimiento con recursos combinados de 20 millones de onzas de plata equivalente, o 340.000 oz de oro. El proyecto adquirió el derecho a explotación de las propiedades Esperanza depósito Teterita plata y la mina de plata Chimberos. Ambas propiedades se encuentran al lado de Arqueros.

Cabe destacar que la iniciativa se desarrollará a rajo abierto con método convencional y procesos de trituración, molienda y cianuración por agitación. Está contemplado que el proyecto dará trabajo de manera directa a aproximadamente 500 personas en su fase de construcción y 200 durante la operación.
