La Corte Suprema fijó para el lunes 27 de enero el veredictosobre la solicitud de remoción del suspendido fiscal regional de O’Higgins, Emiliano Arias.
La Fiscalía Nacional solicitó la salida de Arias al máximo tribunal del país considerando su «mal comportamiento y negligencia manifiesta» en el ejercicio de sus funciones, lo que habría quedado de manifesto tras el sumario interno que realizó la institución. En él se señalan ocho hechos por la primera causal y otros cuatro por la segunda, según la solicitud presentada en la Corte Suprema por la abogada Marisol Peña, en representación del organismo persecutor. El presidente del máximo tribunal, Guillermo Silva, informó que durante el pleno de la Suprema del lunes se dará a conocer el veredicto, luego que este viernes escucharan los alegatos de ambas partes.
En paralelo, Arias enfrenta otro sumario por presuntas deficiencias en una causa contra Sebastián Dávalos y Natalia Compagnon por estafa.
