Inversión centrada en las personas y mayor participación ciudadana marcan primera Cuenta Pública del Gobernador Regional de Atacama

Con la importancia histórica de ser realizada por primera vez en el marco de la elección de la máxima autoridad regional por voluntad popular, el Gobernador de Atacama, Miguel Vargas Correa, presentó este 31 de mayo su Cuenta Pública Participativa correspondiente a su primer año de gestión. Una oportunidad en que dio a conocer los avances en torno a los compromisos asumidos en su plan de Gobierno, que apuntan a resolver temas urgentes para mejorar la calidad de vida de los habitantes de Atacama.

Bajo el nombre de “Atacama, Tierra de Grandes Oportunidades” y calificando su Gobierno como “cercano, en terreno, constituyente y con participación ciudadana”, el Gobernador Regional presentó un balance en ámbitos como vivienda, emprendimiento, campamentos, apoyo a organizaciones sociales y obras de infraestructura. Espacio en que también expresó “la voluntad y compromiso que tenemos con el conjunto del Consejo Regional es trabajar codo a codo para seguir estimulando la participación ciudadana; escuchar atentamente las demandas de los vecinos, de las vecinas, de las organizaciones y poner en práctica la descentralización a nivel territorial”.

Miguel Vargas Correa, también dio cuenta de convenios de programación vinculados a inversiones en el sector vivienda, caminos básicos y salud, en este último se incluyen obras como el hospital de Diego de Almagro, el Cesfam Manuel Rodríguez y el centro oncológico. Además, en el área de salud, se refirió también al programa de formación de especialistas para resolver esta carencia en la región junto al Servicio de Salud Atacama y la Universidad de Atacama y a los programas de cirugía en prótesis de rodilla, vesícula y una nueva iniciativa en que trabaja el Gobierno Regional para poder brindar tratamiento a quienes viven con la patología conocida como “Guatita de Delantal”, incluida su abdominoplastía, entre otros.

En cuanto a vivienda, Miguel Vargas Correa anunció que “junto con MINVU a la fecha estamos construyendo 4.185 nuevas viviendas de un total de 5.447 proyectadas”, además habló acerca de un nuevo convenio de programación, en proceso de validación por el Consejo Regional, que integra campamentos y macro urbanización. Se trata de un desafío que requerirá el trabajo conjunto del Gobierno Regional, MINVU, SERVIU, municipios y la comunidad.
