Por las nubes: El explosivo aumento del precio del aceite en Chile
A través de redes sociales, los consumidores han hecho ver el notable avance del precio de este producto, que tuvo un alza de casi el 100% en los últimos 24 meses.
Entre el 2020 y el 2022, el valor de 1 litro de aceite (vegetal o maravilla) pasó de los $1.700 aproximadamente, a más de $3.500 en ciertas zonas de Chile. El aumento de su valor se debe, entre otras cosas, al conflicto entre Rusia y Ucrania, sumado al fenómeno inflacionario general y las medidas contra cíclicas del Estado.
El precio del aceite, en Chile, superó los $3.000 el litro, un alza que refleja el fenómeno económico de la inflación que afecta a nuestro país y al mundo y que en febrero llegó al 7,8%, según información del Banco Central.
El aceite es un ingrediente casi esencial en la cocina. Su uso va desde la preparación de platos básicos (papas fritas, verduras, etc.), hasta la repostería y el pan.
El precio del aceite en Chile, paso de los $1.700 aproximadamente en 2020, a más de $3.000, incluso llegando a los $3.999, en abril del 2022.
El aceite vegetal alcanzó un alza de casi un 70%, según la Oficina de Estudios y Políticas Agrarias (ODEPA). Mientras que el precio del aceite de maravilla subió hasta casi un 90%.
Carolina Erices, Ingeniera Comercial y académica de la Universidad de Valparaíso, afirmó al medio La Quinta Emprende, que el precio del aceite vegetal tuvo la mayor alza histórica en cuanto a su valor, de acuerdo a la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Agricultura y la Alimentación (FAO).
Según a la profesional, las repercusiones del conflicto entre Rusia y Ucrania, serían responsables del aumento del precio del aceite en Chile. “El embargo del aceite de girasol, cuyos principales productores son Rusia y Ucrania, también han revalorizado el precio del aceite de oliva (vegetal)”, explicó.
Rusia prohibió la exportación de semillas de girasol desde el 1 de abril y fijó cuotas para la exportación del aceite de girasol y el salvado a partir del 15 de abril. Junto con Ucrania, representan más de la mitad del suministro mundial de aceite de girasol y un 30% del de trigo.
Por otro lado, Erices acotó que la pandemia del covid-19, la pérdida de mano de obra, el cierre de fronteras, y alza del valor del combustible, son una serie de factores que comenzaron a gestar un alza en los precios del aceite.
Por último, la adopción de medidas contra cíclicas, como paquetes de estímulos fiscales (bonos, ayudas, IFE, entre otros), traen aparejados efectos inflacionarios.
