Fisco deja de recaudar cerca de US$ 500 millones al año por contrabando de cigarrillos

El Gran Santiago concentra el 75,8% de los cigarros ilícitos a nivel nacional, y la macrozona norte representa el 15,2%.
De acuerdo con un estudio titulado Pack Swap 2021 elaborado por Mide UC, el 20,5% de los cigarrillos que se consumen en el país son ilegales. Así, el perjuicio fiscal por el mercado ilegal de tabaco alcanza los US$ 500 millones anuales por concepto de evasión tributaria. La mayoría de los productos son importados desde Paraguay, en tanto que internet, almacenes de barrio y ferias son los principales canales de compra.
