Beca estudiantil llevará el nombre de ex Dideco de Freirina “Andrea Callejas Ossandón”
*** En la última sesión del Concejo Municipal de Freirina, por unanimidad el cuerpo de concejales aprobó que una de las becas estudiantiles que ofrece la municipalidad lleve el nombre de la ex Dideco.

Una semana transcurrió desde el lamentable deceso de quien fuera la Directora de Desarrollo Comunitario DIDECO Andrea Callejas Ossandón, dejando una profunda huella de dolor entre sus compañeros de trabajo y en la comunidad freirinense, que una vez conocidos los hechos dio muestras de cariño y condolencias a la familia. La ex Directora de Desarrollo Comunitario no tan sólo tuvo a cargo un número importante de programas sociales, sino además cumplió una noble labor liderando los destinos de la residencia de niños y niñas del ex Sename, como así también lideró el proceso de la beca que permite a estudiantes de Freirina acceder al departamentos arrendados por la Municipalidad enla cuarta región. Por lo mismo, el Alcalde Cesar Orellana, en el último Concejo Municipal solicitó al Cuerpo de Concejales que la beca estudiantil lleve el nombre de la ex funcionaria municipal, a lo que el Concejo aprobó de manera unánime. “Quiero agradecer el apoyo a esta iniciativa, puesto que Andrea merece tener este homenaje por todo el compromiso asumido con esta administración. Ella destacó no sólo en temas de infancia, lideró cada acción social encomendada, estuvo en los momentos de emergencia comunal, apoyó a nivel provincial a otros municipios, en fin, su trabajo está a la vista” destacó el Alcalde.
Este año son 8 los departamentos que se arrendarán para que jóvenes de la comuna puedan vivir mientras cursan sus estudios superiores. Se trata de una inversión del Municipio de más de 38 millones de pesos, programa que cuenta con el respaldo del Concejo Municipal y que en los últimos años ha beneficiado a una gran cantidad de jóvenes freirinenses. Los departamentos arrendados, principalmente en la ciudad de La Serena, son amoblados y cumplen con todos los enseres para que los jóvenes vivan cómodamente mientras estudian sus carreras universitarias y este año son 40 los jóvenes beneficiados con esta especie de “beca de arriendo”.
Para las autoridades locales estos recursos son de gran ayuda, especialmente para las familias más vulnerables de la comuna que se acogen a estos beneficios para que sus hijos puedan estudiar fuera de Freirina. El Alcalde Cesar Orellana sostuvo que este beneficio es clave para que los jóvenes puedan sacar adelante la tarea de sus estudios superiores, “lo que aporta la Municipalidad, es de tremenda ayuda para las familias, se traduce en una considerable reducción de gastos, sobre todo si se trata de la ciudad de La Serena, donde los costos de vida son mucho más elevados que en Freirina. Esta es una iniciativa que ya lleva 9 años de manera consecutiva y ha sido muy bien evaluada por la comunidad, por lo que nos deja muy tranquilos y contentos como administración”.
Cabe destacar que la Municipalidad de Freirina cuenta con otro apoyo social para jóvenes universitarios, se trata de la beca “Juanita Contreras”, que año tras año, permite entregar un aporte monetario para el uso libre de los distintos gastos que generan los estudiantes. Es una beca que este año se traduce en un poco más de 9 millones de pesos de las arcas municipales, y que son una ayuda real y concreta para 30 jóvenes de Freirina. Además existen otros beneficios para los estudiantes, siempre y cuando se encuentren el tramo del 60 por ciento del registro social de hogares y que sirve directamente para apoyar pago de arancel o en su defecto para pago de la matrícula. Para todos estos beneficios estudiantiles está a disposición el Departamento Social de la Municipalidad.
