Ni Estados Unidos ni los países de la Alianza Atlántica se han creído el anuncio ruso de retirada de tropas de las fronteras con Ucrania. El presidente de Estados Unidos, Joe Biden, ha advertido de que la presencia de tropas rusas es «amenazante» y que todavía es «claramente posible» que Rusia invada ese país, a lo que Moscú ha respondido que la retirada no puede hacerse en un día.
Los acontecimientos siguen desarrollándose, con reuniones en Moscú y Bruselas, en este caso de líderes europeos, a la espera de que más tarde la ONU estudie en Nueva York esta crisis.
Rusia afirmó, a través del portavoz del Kremlin, Dmitri Peskov, que el retorno a sus cuarteles permanentes de las tropas que participaron en ejercicios militares en regiones próximas a Ucrania ha comenzado, que no se efectúa en un solo día, y rechazó como infundadas las acusaciones sobre el envío de nuevas fuerzas hacia la frontera ruso-ucraniana.
