OTAN refuerza con mil militares de EE.UU su presencia en el Mar Negro

El contingente de un millar de soldados estadounidenses, con los que la OTAN busca reforzar su capacidad de disuasión en la región del Mar Negro ante los avances de Rusia, comenzó a desplegarse en la base aérea rumana de Mihail Kogalniceanu, situada a menos de 500 kilómetros de la flota militar rusa en la península de Crimea.
«En estos momentos, un millar de militares de Estados Unidos se están desplegando en esta base, lo que eleva el número total de soldados estadounidenses aquí a casi 3.000», dijo el secretario general de la OTAN, Jens Stoltenberg, durante una visita a la base.
Estos soldados estaban hasta ahora estacionados en Alemania y se suman a militares de EE.UU, Italia y Alemania que ya trabajaban con el ejército rumano en el flanco suroriental de la OTAN.
Mientras, otros 1.700 soldados de Estados Unidos han empezado a llegar a Polonia para reforzar la frontera noreste de la Alianza.
