“Mick será piloto de reserva de Ferrari, al igual que Antonio Giovinazzi”, dijo Binotto en declaraciones a la cadena alemana RTL que reprodujo la agencia italiana de noticias ANSA.
Schumacher seguirá compitiendo para la escudería Haas, como lo hizo en la actual campaña junto al ruso Nikita Mazepin, pero en la mitad de las carreras de 2022 cambiará a Ferrari en caso de que algunos de sus dos pilotos titulares: Charles Leclerc o el español Carlos Sainz, no puedan estar.
“Mick es piloto de la Ferrari Driver Academy y la meta final de la escuela es encontrar al próximo piloto de nuestra escudería. Por eso para nosotros es importante apoyar a Mick, que este año se defendió muy bien con Haas”, añadió Binotto.
Michael, cuyo estado de salud se mantiene en reserva desde que tuviera un accidente de esquí en 2013, ganó cinco de sus siete títulos mundiales con Ferrari (de 2000 a 2004).
