Autoridades de Atacama y el Ejército conmemoraron aniversario 243 del natalicio de Bernardo O’Higgins en Copiapó
Con la presencia del Gobernador de Atacama, Miguel Vargas Correa, el Delegado Presidencial, Patricio Urquieta García y el comandante del regimiento 23 Copiapó, Coronel Álvaro Salgado Bahamondes, quien fue el anfitrión del evento, se realizó la ceremonia de conmemoración del aniversario número 243 del natalicio de Bernardo O´Higgins.
Tras hacer entrega de las tradicionales ofrendas florales, el Gobernador de Atacama expresó “estamos celebrando el natalicio del padre de la patria, Bernardo O’Higgins Riquelme, y quiero destacar fundamentalmente que las bases de nuestra república están en la obra de Bernardo O’Higgins. Si uno repasa el relato del comandante del regimiento 23 Copiapó, de lo que fue la gestión de O’Higgins encabezando la república chilena, se encuentra con hechos muy notables. Los avances en educación, la valoración que se hacía del rol de los poderes del Estado, la importancia de impulsar con fuerza las obras en Chile y el mensaje de fortalecimiento de la república. Creo que el gran legado que nos queda de esa acción tiene que ver con seguir fortaleciendo nuestra identidad, seguir fortaleciendo la república de Chile y trabajar en un sentido de unidad que es lo que el país necesita para seguir construyendo juntos una patria más justa, más igualitaria, donde exista respeto por las instituciones e igualdad de oportunidades para todos y todas”.
El Delegado Presidencial manifestó que “hoy es un día muy especial para todo Chile, porque conmemoramos la fecha del natalicio de Bernardo O’Higgins, uno de los padres de la patria y una de las principales figuras en la gesta de la independencia de Chile. Estamos compartiendo junto al ejército este momento importante, porque sabemos que el legado que ha dejado Bernardo O’higgisn es una patria libre, una república que hoy se ha convertido en lo que todos podemos conocer a partir de las oportunidades que ha entregado a la gente, y sobre todo, con su contribución en la gesta de independencia, y con posterioridad, la construcción de la república que forjó la identidad de los Chilenos. Así que estamos hoy conmemorando una fecha importante, en la que destacamos la trascendencia que tuvo la acción de Bernardo O’Higgins para nuestro país, y como su legado, se ha convertido en un ejemplo que nos llena de orgullo a las futuras generaciones”.
El Coronel Álvaro Salgado Bahamondes, Comandante del Regimiento 23 Copiapó, y quien encabezó la ceremonia, señaló “hacemos un alto en nuestra jornada y evocamos nuestros pensamiento hacia el padre de la patria, que sin duda logró asentar todos los cimientos y la base para lo que tenemos el día de hoy, para nosotros es muy importante destacar la acción que tuvo O’Higgins, no solamente en su condición de comandante militar, sino en su visión prospectiva y su visión como estadista. Es por eso que hacemos un alto en la jornada y destacamos estos aspectos que consideramos que son referentes, muy relevantes y a veces desconocidos por muchos”.
Agregó que el mensaje en estos 243 años serían “uno, la importancia de tener estamentos, un Gobierno que se preocupe principalmente de las condiciones de los habitantes; dos, generar las condiciones del progreso, y tres, un rol fundamental como lo hizo O’Higgins en la parte educación; sentar la educación como uno de los pilares fundamentales del desarrollo y el progreso de un país a base de crear las condiciones y lograr que no haya diferencias dentro de los integrantes de una sociedad”, finalizó el Coronel.
