EXTRA: Juzgado de Garantía de Copiapó deja en prisión preventiva a imputada por trata de personas con fines de prostitución

*El magistrado Ubaldo Basoa Oviedo ordenó el ingreso de Báez Vera al Centro de Cumplimiento Penitenciario de Copiapó, por considerar que la libertad de la imputada constituye un peligro para la seguridad de la sociedad.

El Juzgado de Garantía de Copiapó dejó hoy –jueves 29 de abril– sujeta a la medida cautelar de prisión preventiva a Antonia Beatriz Báez Vera, imputada por el Ministerio Público como autora del delito reiterado de trata de personas con fines de prostitución. Ilícitos perpetrados desde 2019, en la ciudad.

En audiencia de formalización (causa rol 2.394-2021), el magistrado Ubaldo Basoa Oviedo ordenó el ingreso de Báez Vera al Centro de Cumplimiento Penitenciario de Copiapó, por considerar que la libertad de la imputada constituye un peligro para la seguridad de la sociedad y por peligro de fuga. Además, fijó en tres meses el plazo de investigación.

Según el ente persecutor, entre 2019 y 2021, la ciudadana paraguaya Antonia Beatriz Báez Vera promovió y facilitó la entrada al país de las víctimas, sus connacionales, L.K.J., S.N.C.S., M.M.E.G., L.M.B., M.E.H.E., S.S.D., C.M. y N.B.A.A., para que ejercieran la prostitución en la ciudad de Copiapó. Para ello, la imputada pagó los pasajes aéreos para que las víctimas viajaran a Chile, quienes señalaron en sus respectivos controles migratorios, como domicilio dos departamentos ubicados en calle Atacama de la ciudad, en los cuales prestaron los servicios sexuales o a domicilio, cuando los clientes así lo solicitaban.

Servicios que, además, Báez Vera, coordinaba, cobraba y publicitaba a través de páginas online dedicadas al comercio sexual.
