Más de 16 mil trabajadores se han acogido a la Ley de protección al empleo en Atacama

*A nivel nacional el sector productivo que tiene más solicitudes aprobadas para acoger trabajadores a la ley es Construcción con el 22,7 % de las solicitudes.

De acuerdo con los datos estadísticos entregados por la Superintendencia de Pensiones al 31 de enero del 2021, en el país un total 1 millón 26 mil 358 trabajadores se han acogido a la suspensión de contratos ante la Administradora de Fondos de Cesantía (AFC), ya sea por acto de la autoridad, pactada o reducción de jornada.

Cifra que en la región de Atacama alcanza a los 16.263 trabajadores, lo que representa el 1.6% de las solicitudes a nivel país. Cuyas solicitudes fueron aprobadas y reciben ingresos según calendario estipulado por la Aseguradora de Fondos de Cesantía.

Al respecto, la Seremi (S) del Trabajo y Previsión Social, Pamela Orellana, comenta que “constantemente estamos recibiendo la información de la cobertura que está teniendo la Ley de Protección de Empleo, y que en la región de Coquimbo ha beneficiado, a la fecha, a más de 5 mil trabajadores que han podido mantener el vínculo laboral y recibir ingresos mediante el seguro de cesantía”.

La autoridad continúa explicando que “la ley de protección del empleo ha demostrado ser una buena alternativa y una herramienta eficaz para mantener los puestos de trabajo y garantizar ingresos a los trabajadores de empresas que se han visto afectadas por la crisis sanitaria provocada por el COVID-19”.

El informe de la Superintendencia de Pensiones detalla que en la región de Atacama del total de trabajadores que se acogieron a la ley de Protección del Empleo, 1.431 se deben a acto de autoridad por COVID y 2.125 han sido por suspensión de contrato y 343 por reducción de jornada.
