Trump promete «transición ordenada» tras certificación de su derrota
El presidente saliente estadounidense, Donald Trump, aceptó este jueves que su presidencia será de un solo mandato y prometió una “transición ordenada”, después de que el Congreso ratificara la victoria electoral del mandatario electo Joe Biden.
“A pesar de que estoy totalmente en desacuerdo con el resultado de las elecciones, y los hechos están de mi lado, sin embargo, habrá una transición ordenada el 20 de enero”, dijo Trump en un comunicado distribuido en Twitter por uno de sus principales asesores, Dan Scavino, insistiendo en las acusaciones de fraude para las cuales no ha provisto evidencia.
“Siempre he dicho que continuaríamos nuestra lucha para asegurar que solo se contaban los votos legales. ¡Aunque esto representa el fin del mejor primer mandato en la historia presidencial, solo es el comienzo de nuestra lucha para Hacer a Estados Unidos Grande de Nuevo!”, añadió, citando su lema electoral.
La reacción de Trump llegó a través de Scavino porque la cuenta de Twitter del propio presidente saliente está suspendida temporalmente, debido a unos mensajes en los que el mandatario justificó el asalto al Capitolio por parte de sus simpatizantes.
Trump no llegó a reconocer del todo la derrota en su comunicado, algo que prometió a sus seguidores que “nunca” haría, pero sí admitió que su mandato llega a su fin, y que tendrá que abandonar la Casa Blanca el próximo 20 de enero.
