Chañaral comienza a reactivar el sector gastronómico en Fase 3 del Plan “Paso a Paso” con implementación de espacio activo
“Merino Jarpa” es una de las vías principales de la comuna de Chañaral y a lo largo del tiempo se ha convertido en un espacio ícono dentro de la comuna, que en el año 2015 quedó tapada de barro producto de uno de los aluviones más grandes del país. Y, desde hoy, luce de manera muy diferente con la implementación de pintura en el pavimento, con demarcación de los parklest correspondientes a unas bahías que permite a los comerciantes del rubro gastronómico disponer mesas en la calzada, para la atención del público, y las “chañaralinos” puedan realizar sus compras, en otro ambiente.
“Es espectacular. Es un gran apoyo y un impulso para la economía de la zona, sobre todo el rubro gastronómico, y esta oportunidad de sacar nuestras mesas a la calle y poder atender como atendíamos antes, nos permite levantar nuestras ventas”, señaló Cristian Cerda, dueños del Emporio “Benito Flores Gourmet”.
En el mismo sentido, la máxima autoridad regional de Atacama, Patricio Urquieta García, señaló que: “Estamos contentos en la comuna de Chañaral junto al alcalde, a la gobernadora, seremis, concejales y consejeros regionales reaperturando el barrio “Merino Jarpa” que es característico del comercio de esta comuna, y esperamos que pueda mejorar las condiciones en el futuro, a partir de una inyección de actividad económica, que les permita crear más oportunidades de empleo. Estamos reaperturando, no solamente porque se están cumpliendo los protocolos sanitarios, sino porque además, tenemos un compromiso de mejorar la calidad de espacios públicos, que finalmente va a ser lo que va a alentar la actividad comercial en este sector, y lo queremos hacer invirtiendo recursos del Gobierno para poder adaptar mejor los espacios, hermosear los espacios públicos y de esta manera invitar a la comunidad de Chañaral, y a los turistas que se acerquen a este lugar a poder desarrollar las actividades económicas que tenemos en este sector, y que a la gente le vaya bien, y que se traduzca más empleo para la comuna de Chañaral”, dijo PATRICIO URQUIETA GARCÍA, Intendente de Atacama.
Esta intervención urbana llamada “Espacio Activo” forma parte de un trabajo multisectorial, entre la Seremia de Economía, Minvu Atacama, Municipio de Chañaral y representantes de los gremios gastronómicos. Lo anterior, permitió potenciar el lugar con la implementación de un boulevard para los chañaralinos en la calle “Merino Jarpa” desde la vía los “Baños” hasta calle “Comercio”.
“Estamos contentos con la apertura Merino Jarpa, porque el trabajo comunitario por parte del municipio, Minvu, Sernatur, el gobierno regional y economía, estamos transformando para que se genere un espacio familiar, y de levantar el sector gastronómico afectado por la pandemia. Sin duda, seguiremos trabajando porque ese es el compromiso del presidente Sebastián Piñera, el seguir avanzando y levantando nuestra región”, destacó MANUEL NANJARÍ CONTRERAS, Seremi de Economía, Fomento y Turismo.
Por su parte, el alcalde de la comuna de Chañaral, RAÚL SALAS AGUILERA, declaró que: “Es un aniversario importante para la comunidad, donde se destaca el celebrar en grande. Estamos cumpliendo 187 años y en las acciones que buscamos para reactivar la economía local, estamos dando inicio de la reactivación del sector centro de Chañaral. Hay, una inversión al municipio por parte del programa para pequeñas localidades, y además vemos un compromiso con el gobierno de apoyar el desarrollo de nuestra comuna”.
La activación urbana “Espacio Activo” del Barrio Comercial Merino Jarpa, se financia con recursos del Programa para Pequeñas Localidades«Lugares que crecen», del Ministerio de Vivienda y Urbanismo en la región de Atacama, el que está dirigido a localidades de menos de 20.000 habitantes que sean centros proveedores de servicios de educación (nivel básico) y de salud (servicio de atención permanente), y tiene por objetivo contribuir, mediante la ejecución e implementación de un Plan de Desarrollo de la Localidad, a mejorar la calidad de vida de los habitantes y potenciar el desarrollo de localidades que presentan déficit urbano y habitacional.
Recordemos que, en Atacama, las comunas de Alto del Carmen y Chañaral se encuentran en la fase 3 de preparación, por tanto, comercio y otras actividades no esenciales que puedan funcionar con trabajadores que vivan en una comuna sin cuarentena.
