“Hemos vuelto a cumplir un record. 31 mil 981 exámenes, sólo por 19 no llegamos a los 32 mil. Es un registro muy importante para Chile, a la vez que la tasa de positividad del PCR es de 6,4%, cerca del 5% que recomienda la OMS”, dijo el Ministro de Salud, Enrique Paris.

Un incremento en el nivel de test aplicados en el país que ha permitido ir fortaleciendo el nivel de seguimiento y trazabilidad de los casos. “En el 88% de los exámenes en la Región Metropolitana se obtienen resultados antes de las 48 horas. Por tanto, estamos haciendo seguimiento estricto desde la búsqueda de casos activos, el seguimiento de casos investigados, sus contactos estrechos y la estrategia de aislamiento”, destacó la Subsecretaria de Salud Pública, Paula Daza.

De hecho, según el último reporte de trazabilidad, del 8 al 14 de agosto de 2020, se detectaron  13 mil 744 casos nuevos, de los cuales se investigaron 11 mil 581, es decir se cumple el 84%  de contacto con el caso índice, explicó Ministro Paris, a lo que añadió que “respecto a los casos proveniente de contactos, estamos en 59,4% y se debería llegar al 60%. Hemos hecho un esfuerzo enorme en trazabilidad, y tenemos clarísimo que es un elemento fundamental para el control de la pandemia”, recalcó la máxima autoridad de salud. www.minsal.cl
