UDA trabaja en Proyecto “FIUDA 2030” que busca formar ingenieros de clase mundial
Con la misión de formar ingenieros altamente competentes y responsables con el medio ambiente, con foco en el sector minero, la Universidad de Atacama está desarrollando el Proyecto “Ingeniería FIUDA 2030” con apoyo de la Corporación de Fomento de la Producción (Corfo), mediante el Programa “Nueva ingeniería para el 2030 Regiones” y el Fondo de Innovación para la Competitividad Regional (FIC) del Gobierno Regional de Atacama.
Actualmente el Proyecto FIUDA 2030 busca posicionar a la Facultad de Ingeniería de la Universidad de Atacama como una de las mejores facultades chilenas en I+D+i+e (Investigación + Desarrollo + innovación + emprendimiento), reconocida en el ámbito internacional, en minería, energía y sustentabilidad.
El director del Proyecto, Dr. Dante Carrizo, académico de la Facultad de Ingeniería de la UDA, explicó que esta iniciativa se encuentra en la Subetapa I de Implementación del Plan Estratégico. “A pesar de la compleja situación que atravesamos producto del Covid-19, el proyecto se sigue ejecutando, actualmente sin la participación presencial de estudiantes y académicos, pero con la formalización del proyecto y el levantamiento de observaciones de adjudicación. Esperamos en la medida que la situación lo permita, poder avanzar en la ejecución de actividades de capacitación, participación, y también de interacción entre los diferentes estamentos de la Universidad con actores relevantes del entorno, industria, y sistema de innovación”, señaló el académico. DESARROLLO ACADÉMICO Cabe destacar que el proyecto está enfocado en seis ejes estratégicos: Gobernanza Asociativa y sinergias, Capital humano y gestión del cambio, I+D aplicado y vinculación con la industria, Comercialización de tecnología, Alianzas internacionales, y finalmente, Armonización de currículo y Postgrados Tecnológicos.
Entre las iniciativas más relevantes se puede mencionar el acortamiento de las carreras de Ingeniería Civil y su articulación con postgrados tecnológicos, un Centro de Ciencia de Datos, un Centro de Innovación y Emprendimiento, un Espacio Tecnológico, además de un Programa de Capacitación en inglés para académicos. “Las principales iniciativas tienen que ver con el fortalecimiento de las capacidades de académicos y estudiantes, focalizadas en innovación y emprendimiento, así como en investigación aplicada”, indicó el Dr. Carrizo.
En tanto, la presidenta del Consejo Regional de Atacama, Ruth Vega, declaró que “El Proyecto Ingeniería 2030 de la Universidad de Atacama es una apuesta necesaria de acuerdo al momento presente que vive el mundo, tanto en lo educacional, como en lo laboral y económico. Además, es importante destacar el objetivo asociado al compromiso con el cuidado del medio ambiente para una economía sustentable, tan necesaria y urgente hoy en estos momentos que estamos sufriendo la consecuencia del cambio climático”. “Esta iniciativa instala la meta de formar ingenieros referentes en la transformación e innovación y soluciones de las demandas planteadas por los sectores productivos, cumpliendo los estándares internacionales en las áreas de minería, energía y sustentabilidad. Sin duda Atacama y el país lo necesita y este proyecto responde a los desafíos actuales con una propuesta integral, pertinente e innovadora”, añadió la presidenta del CORE Atacama
PROGRAMA INGENIERÍA 2030 El Programa de Corfo “Implementación del Plan Estratégico — Nueva ingeniería para el 2030 en regiones» tiene como objetivo apoyar a las universidades chilenas que imparten carreras de ingeniería civil, en el proceso de generación de planes, destinados a transformar sus escuelas o facultades de ingeniería.
Al respecto, la directora regional de Corfo Atacama, Silvia Zuleta, destacó la implementación de esta iniciativa por parte de la Universidad de Atacama. “Sabemos que vivimos tiempos complejos, pero también debemos pensar en cómo queremos seguir trabajando para que nuestro país y la región puedan alcanzar un mayor desarrollo. Esta iniciativa nos permitirá reformular la forma en que se enseña ingeniería en el país, transformando a las escuelas y facultades de Ingeniería, en base a estándares internacionales y en los ámbitos de investigación aplicada, desarrollo y transferencia de tecnología e innovación y emprendimiento. Otras regiones ya comenzaron con este proceso y nosotros como Atacama no nos podemos quedar atrás”, concluyó la directora regional. Dentro de los resultados esperados se encuentra el aumento de actividades con actores de la industria nacional y extranjera, nuevos planes de estudio en pre y postgrado e implementar un sistema de monitoreo del proceso de transformación.
