P&G supera estimaciones de ganancias debido a compras de papel higiénico y detergentes
Procter & Gamble Co superó el viernes las expectativas de utilidades trimestrales debido a que los consumidores se abastecieron de productos desde detergentes y rollos de papel higiénico a pañales durante el estricto confinamiento aplicado en el mundo para frenar la propagación del coronavirus.
P&G, que vende sus productos en más de 180 países, registró crecimientos de ventas en tres de sus cinco unidades, lo que hacía que sus acciones subieran un 1,3% en las primeras operaciones del viernes.
La compañía también dijo que espera pagar más de 7.500 millones de dólares en dividendos y recomprar entre 7.000 millones y 8.000 millones de acciones en el año fiscal 2020.
Las ventas en su unidad de cuidado de la salud subieron un 7%, mientras que las de textiles y para el hogar crecieron un 8%. El negocio de productos para bebés y femeninos registró un incremento de 6%. Los ingresos cayeron en los segmentos de belleza y aseo personal.
Muchos de los productos de la compañía, incluidas las toallas de papel Bounty, el papel higiénico Charmin, los pañales Pampers y los tampones Tampax, han registrado una alta demanda en los supermercados de Estados Unidos en las últimas semanas.
En el tercer trimestre, terminado el 31 de marzo, las ventas netas crecieron un 5% a 17.210 millones de dólares, debido a que los consumidores se abastecieron durante las últimas semanas de ese período en Estados Unidos.
