Didier Drogba ofreció su hospital para luchar contra el coronavirus en Costa de Marfil
El legendario ex delantero marfileño Didier Drogba propuso a las autoridades de su país que el hospital de su fundación en Abiyán, la capital económica de Costa de Marfil, sirva como centro de detección del coronavirus.
El diario francés L’Équipe indicó este lunes que la antigua estrella de Chelsea, presentó el proyecto en el hospital ubicado en un barrio popular de Abiyán, al que se ha dado el nombre de Laurent-Pokou, antiguo jugador y entrenador de Costa de Marfil, muerto en 2016.
El prefecto de la ciudad agradeció a Drogba un gesto que calificó «un acto de patriotismo». Por su parte, la directora de la fundación que gestiona el centro, Mariam Breka, señaló que ahora corresponde al Estado que el centro sea funcional.
Las autoridades indicaron el pasado jueves que tenían intención de poner en marcha una estrategia de detección de la COVID-19 con 13 centros de toma de muestras en Abiyán y 45 en todo el país.
De acuerdo con las cifras oficiales, en Costa de Marfil hay contabilizados 533 positivos y cinco muertos.
