Fallece a los 88 años el «cura obrero» Mariano Puga
En la madrugada de este sábado se confirmó el fallecimiento del sacerdote Mariano Puga a los 88 años, el “cura obrero”.
Puga presentaba un delicado estado de salud desde hace varios días y se encontraba reposando en la comunidad de La Minga en Villa Francia, de Estación Central.
“Ha partido desde su amada Minga al encuentro con Cristo, el que lo “chaló”, amó y movió a entregar su vida por el pueblo pobre y oprimido”, informó su comunidad en un comunicado.
Los detalles de sus funerales serán revelados en las próximas horas, informaron desde la Minga.
Puga tuvo un rol clave como opositor a la dictadura de Augusto Pinochet, siendo detenido en reiteradas ocasiones.
Además, vivió un breve exilio en Perú.
Asimismo, colaboró directamente con la Vicaría de la Solidaridad en los casos de violaciones a los Derechos Humanos.
