Mantienen prisión preventiva para concejal Karim Chahuán, imputado por múltiples delitos
La Corte de Apelaciones de Valparaíso confirmó la prisión preventiva decretada contra el concejal de La Calera Karim Chahuán, luego que la defensa ingresara un recurso de apelación por la resolución del Juzgado de Garantía de esa ciudad, que mantuvo la medida cautelar decretada.
La ministra que presidió la Segunda Sala del Tribunal de Alzada de Valparaíso, Silvana Donoso, indicó que en esta instancia, al haber más delitos por los que Chahuán Cerna fue formalizado, entre ellos, falsificación de instrumento público y tráfico de drogas, resultaba más difícil conceder la libertad del imputado, dada la gravedad de las imputaciones.
Además, indicó que la libertad del Chahuán podría constituir un peligro tanto para la sociedad, como para el proceso investigativo, que podría verse obstaculizado.
El defensor del concejal calificó como “genérico” el argumento de la corte, indicando que no dieron ningún detalle concreto para determinar el fallo.
