11 años de presidio para acusado por el delito de incendio ocurrido en Vallenar
Tras la investigación dirigida por la Fiscalía de Atacama, la que acreditó la responsabilidad penal de un acusado por el delito de incendio, el Ministerio Público obtuvo una pena efectiva de cárcel en contra del responsable de este siniestro.
ANTECEDENTES:
La indagatoria dirigida por la Fiscalía Local de Vallenar reunió los antecedentes que fueron argumentados en audiencia de Juicio Oral por el fiscal Jorge Hernández Angel, quien indicó en la acusación de este caso que los hechos ocurrieron el 09 de marzo del año 2020 cuando el acusado, Edson Muñoz Guajardo, en manifiesto estado de ebriedad, manipuló un cilindro de gas en el dormitorio que ocupaba en la casa habitación ubicada en calle Fáez de esta ciudad. Lugar en que además otras habitaciones eran arrendadas como dormitorios. Acto seguido cerró las vías de acceso a la pieza donde residía, mientras el fuego comenzó a consumir las paredes y el techo del lugar.
De acuerdo a la versión de los testigos que prestaron declaración en la audiencia de juicio, las llamas se propagaron por las habitaciones colindantes, debiendo sus moradores abandonar rápidamente el lugar sin tener la posibilidad de extinguir el fuego. La acción del siniestro se extendió de manera rápida a una peluquería colindante al lugar del origen del incendio, para luego afectar a un local de venta de verduras y una fuente de soda.
EL FISCAL:
“Según la investigación dirigida por la Fiscalía se pudo establecer que algunas personas llegaron hasta la habitación del acusado con la finalidad de sacarlo del lugar, momento en que éste, portando un arma blanca, logró evitar la acción de quienes pretendían ayudarlo”, dijo el fiscal.
Jorge Hernández Angel agregó que hasta el lugar llegó personal de Carabineros, los que, a pesar que el fuego ya consumía gran parte de la vivienda, accedieron y lograron rescatar a quien originó el siniestro, el que causó la pérdida de todas las pertenencias del resto de los arrendatarios, además de la destrucción de los locales comerciales afectados.
Por estos hechos, la Fiscalía presentó acusación en contra del autor de esta emergencia en contra de quien se obtuvo la condena por su responsabilidad en el delito de incendio en lugar habitado. Frente a lo cual los jueces del Tribunal Oral determinaron que Muñoz Guajardo deberá cumplir la pena de 11 años de presidio en la cárcel de esta ciudad.
